Breakthrough Energy was founded by Bill Gates with a clear mission to bring cutting-edge technologies in the clean energy and clean tech spaces to life. Which is exactly what it is doing, with its portfolio company, Pivot Bio.

BT Group, meanwhile, is investing $32 billion in a massive upgrade of the UK’s fibre optic network to boost digital connectivity, in a project being likened to building a new railway network across the whole country.
